I am currently recruiting for:  Open positions

Students working with me will join a dynamic team within the Createk group. The Createk group and the IntroLab laboratory share an open office space on the 3rd floor of the 3IT, and the student will have the chance to interact with experts in machine design, electronics and computer science. They will integrate a “maker” community and will be able to perfect their skills in mechatronics and robotics.

Createk is a group of professors leading research projects in the development of advanced technologies (robotics, actuators and vehicles). The team consists of 8 professors, 3 research professionals, 1 technician and about 25 graduate students.

The 3IT is an institute that aims to accelerate innovation by eliminating boundaries in research areas. The 3IT is made up of researchers from several faculties and companies, which makes it a unique place for technological innovation. The institute is equipped with mechanical and electrical prototyping machines, as well as instrumented test rooms.

Development of actuated assistance mechanisms for patient lifts

Partner: Arjo Subject: Controls, actuators, haptics, mechanism design, bio-mechanics. Open-position: Winter 2022

The goal of this project is to leverage collaborative robotic technologies for designing smarter intelligent patient lift.

AI for driving in the snow

Subject: Controls, machine-learning. Open-position: MScA / PhD

The goal of this project is to develop algorithms for selecting and executing emergency maneuvers that are ajusted dynamically in function of the road condition (snow, ice, etc.)

Control of a mobile sanding robot

Partner: RCM Subject: Controls, actuators, force-feedback. Open-position: MScA Mitacs Internships at the compagny

The goal of the project is to develop motion controllers to allow a mobile robot to sand drywall on construction sites.

Impedance and admittance controllers for traction drive actuators

Partner: Vectis Subject: Controls, actuators, electric motors. Open-position: MScA / Interns Starting Mai. 2021 Mitacs Internships at the compagny

The goal of the project is to elaborate, program, test and evaluate control schemes aiming to program compliant behavior for Vectis traction-drive actuators, from the low-level motor control to the high-level system controller.

Advanced driving assistance for off-road vehicles
